  • Quicksticks Hockey Tournament

    Fri 30 Sep 2016

This year we entered Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams into the Quicksticks Hockey Competition.

Both teams played their hearts out and topped their respective leagues to progress into the semi-finals where they narrowly missed out on making the final.

However, our Year 5/6 won their play-off game to come third out of nine teams with Year 3/4 drawing their play-off game and coming joint third out of eight teams.

But we didn’t go away empty handed as our Year 3/4 team were recognised for their sportsmanship by winning the Spirit of the Games trophy. We are so proud of you all.

  • Waltham-on-the-Wolds Charter Fair

    Sat 17 Sep 2016

The wet and windy weather didn’t put off King Jackson (with loud speaker) and Princess Hopkins (with rattle) from leading a parade of our chanting school children around the village hall to officially open this year's Waltham-on-the-Wolds Charter Fair.

Our noise even managed to blow the clouds away as we again enjoyed a fun packed Charter Fair, with great stalls and activities, including lots of bouncing; for the first time, we had an inflatable bungee run!

It was great to see so many of the school children and their families support this community event, with some great shapes being thrown at the kids disco in the afternoon!

  • Mrs Francks' Baby Girl

    Fri 16 Sep 2016

Former teacher of Waltham School, Mrs Francks, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Saturday 16th September

She has been named Millie Hazel. Both mummy and baby are doing really well.

  • Roald Dahl's 100th Birthday

    Tue 13 Sep 2016

On Tuesday 13th September the whole school celebrated Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday by dressing up as one of their favourite characters from his books. They also brought in their favourite Roald Dahl books and shared them with friends.

During the day, the children participated in a range of Roald Dahl tasks such as, writing their own recipes for a Marvellous Medicine, writing their big dreams in dream jars for the BFG, designing a new chocolate bar for Willy Wonka and using the internet to find out about Roald Dahl and his life.

At the end of the day we held a celebration assembly where all the children came together to show off their costumes; it was great fun, everyone made such an effort, even the teachers!

We had such a brilliant day, so thank you so much for your books Roald Dahl and Happy Birthday.
