‘Let your light shine.’ Matthew 5:16

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Christingle

8 December 2017

On Friday 8th December the whole school went down to St Mary Magdalene Church to celebrate Christingle as part of our Messy Fiesta.

We began with a welcome and introduction from Mr Alexander who taught us the meaning of Christingle and told us what each section of the Christingle orange represented.

After that, the children were organised into teams and we played some fun, creative Christingle tasks. For the first task, the children had to pass a polo along a piece of ribbon without anyone seeing. For the second task, we listened to a Christingle story and all wrote our own Christingle prayers. For the third task, we had to work as a team to build a tower using pasta and marshmallows. Mr Alexander finished the ceremony off with a blessing.

We had such a fantastic afternoon. Thank you so much to Mrs Garnett and Mr Alexander for organising everything.
