World Book Day
2 March 2017
Everyone loves the opportunity to dress up here at Waltham, so World Book Day presented us with the perfect opportunity!
Crazy hair and marvellous costumes celebrated the children’s favourite book characters. Staff and children joined in the fun, including our Headteacher Mrs Hopkins (that’s her looking like the Queen of Hearts!)
We all enjoyed reading our favourite stories with a friend; the younger children really enjoyed sharing books with the older children too. The teachers organised a special ‘Where’s Wally’ hunt, which took children on a search all around the school, including the library, looking for cut-outs of Wally. We had had a marvellous time and can’t wait for next year!
We also organised a book fair which was very well supported by our parents. We sold over £600 of books which meant we were able to purchase £600 worth of books for our school! What a great effort; we are very thankful for our wonderful community who want to help us learn.
