Waltham on the Wolds Primary School – Football Competition Report

 

On Monday 29th September, a squad of nine Year 5 and 6 boys from Waltham on the Wolds Primary School travelled by coach to take part in a football competition.

In the group stage, Waltham faced teams from Great Dalby, St Mary’s, St Francis, and Bottesford. The boys showed determination, teamwork, and plenty of skill, which earned them a place in the knockout rounds.

The team then went on to play Brownlow in the final, where they were narrowly beaten in a closely contested match. Undeterred, Waltham came out strong in the third place playoff against Stathern, securing a brilliant 2-0 victory to finish in 3rd place overall.

This was a fantastic achievement for the team, who represented the school superbly with their effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
