  • Remembrance

    Sat 11 Nov 2017

To mark Remembrance Day we held lots of different activities in school. We made our own poppies and displayed them with some of the children’s work in the Church.

On Friday 11th November we went to The Waltham Memorial. Some of the children from Sycamore Class read the war poems that they had written. Oak Class read an excerpt from, ’For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon. This was followed by a two minutes silence at 11 o’clock and prayers written by the children. Holly and Beech Classes laid our poppy wreath next to the War Memorial. Reverend John Barr finished with a blessing.

To raise money for The Royal British Legion’s poppy fund we baked cakes and sold poppies.

We had so much fun and we raised £624.50 for The NSPCC.
